Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles of Mumbai, World Heritage Site
On 30th June 2018 the Victorian Gothic & Art Deco Ensembles of Mumbai, consisting of 94 sites, was
inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site under the 'Cultural Site' category. Thousands of people
that live and work across the World Heritage sites celebrate the buildings and public spaces they
use.
After the latest edition of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India, India has now 38 World Heritage
Sites listed, and that makes India among one of the top countries globally in terms of several world
heritage sites. UNESCO identifies World Heritage Sites as places that belong to all the people of the
world, irrespective of the territory on which they are located.
